For years, the Persian Gulf has been the scene of a heated clash between Iran and its neighbors. A question that has become more complex and dangerous over the years as Russians and Americans want to have a say in the balance (and the distribution of oil). After the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, the fronts became even more complicated – there are now two other indigestible clients: Turkey and Israel. Not only that: behind the curtains of the discreet rooms of international diplomacy, this war is being fought with the arms of a Franco-Egyptian lobby and propaganda group based in Paris and those of the most important leaders for the last 20 years of the Swiss and German secret services
During this century, alliances have emerged in the Gulf: on the one hand the Saudi monarchy and its most loyal allies (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Israel and Egypt), on the other Iran, Turkey and those who without these two giants risk being erased from the map of the planet: Qatar, Palestine and two organizations, a politician (the Muslim Brotherhood) and a military (the Lebanese Hezbollah).
For a few years now, the situation has become explosive as Saudi Arabia and the Emirates arm themselves, seek allies for a possible invasion of Qatar, threaten armed aggression against Iran, increase the pressure of cyberattacks and immense action propaganda is spreading around the world. For the Russians, Americans and Chinese, the annihilation of Qatar and Palestine and the worldwide persecution of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah is an acceptable price to pay for keeping the peace.
The three great world powers react differently, but all three show the same interest: preventing the region from exploding – by accepting that Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, in exchange for peace, allow the Turkish struggle against the Kurds and the chaos of genocide in Yemen to continue. For Washington and Moscow, the risk of the resurrection of the Caliphate and the need to pacify and neutralize Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria are at stake. For this reason, diplomats have been working feverishly for years, trying to defuse the bomb created by Qatar’s isolated position. An operation that seemed successful in January 2020 when a peace treaty was signed – a treaty that was not even worth the paper it was written on …
A peace that is not such
The 41st Gulf Cooperation Council Summit Conference Hall in Al-Una[1]
On January 5, 2021, the 41st summit of the Persian Gulf countries met in the impressive glass rooms of the cultural center in the beautiful setting of the ruins of Al-Una in the Medina to discuss the end of the three-year cold war between the Saudis, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain and Qatar[2]. The aim was to seal a month of negotiations[3] with a signature that would end the airspace blockade for flights to or from Doha[4] and then allow normal diplomatic relations to be restored between all Gulf states[5].
In this new century, the balances in the Middle East have fundamentally changed[6] due to the economic situation and the Arab Spring. Saudi Arabia and the Emirates prepared, subsidized and supported the coup that brought Abdel Fatteh Al-Sisi to power in Cairo[7], and also supported General Khalifa Haftar’s faction in the civil war in Libya[8]. Riyadh and Dubai are actively collaborating with Israel in technological and military[9] exchanges against their mortal enemies: the Turkey of Tayyip Erdogan[10] and the Iran of the Ayatollahs[11], who support Hezbollah in Lebanon[12] and support ISIS in the Syrian civil war[13]. With Qatar historically allied with Palestine, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood, Qatar is stuck in a corner[14] – a corner from which it was theoretically freed at the January summit, which apparently laid the groundwork for peace and cooperation, as well as the resumption of cooperation among all the countries of the Persian Gulf – which the United Nations has been pressuring[15] for some time.
The fact that Qatar and Saudi Arabia are staunch allies of the Western world prevented the dispute from escalating into armed conflict from the start – although the governments in Riyadh and Dubai secretly prepared for the possibility: by creating military and mercenary units that obey the orders of monarchs[16], purchase clever technology to control the internet, swarms of armed drones, and track the movements of political and diplomatic opponents[17] – to the point of intercepting the private conversations of Emir Tamin Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Head of State of Qatar and members of his government, family and army[18].
Among the many collateral measures of the conflict are those related to propaganda lobbies – Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, in addition to organizing international conferences and events, also fund the activities of the relevant interest groups, especially public opinion in the Western world and to make us believe that the Muslim Brotherhood (and therefore Qatar) is a partner of Islamic Jihad – and therefore founded a colossal organization based in Paris, whose epicenter is a center of studies, and the journalistic, media and political initiatives of a team of mercenaries coordinated by one of the men who became famous after the Egyptian coup.
The battlefield moves to Paris
CEMO President Abdelraheem Ali (right) in conversation with his trusted journalist, Georges Malbrunot, reporter at Le Figarò[19]
His name is Abdelraheem Ali. He is an Egyptian parliamentarian who was elected to the party list of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi[20] and moved to Paris three years ago, where he acquired a majority stake in CEMO (Centre des études du Moyen Orient Sarl[21]), which, alongside the Western right, fights against moderate Islam and interfaith integration. As he says himself, his political debut is linked to Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the struggle of the secret services against the government of Mohammed Morsi[22].
In the weeks following the coup, Abdelraheem Ali built a media empire based on the Al Bawaba[23] news agency, while Al-Sisi prepared for the May 28, 2014 elections, which he won with more 96% of the vote. The Emirates and Arabs then moved to Cairo, where they are funded by the Arab School for Journalism Plc[24], which in turn is 100% funded by the UAE government[25].
Abdelraheem Ali turns Al Bawaba into an incredible disinformation machine, creating a portal in French, one in English, one in German and one in Turkish[26]. Ali publishes two monographs published by Editions L’Harmattan Paris (very popular in French-speaking Africa[27]): “The State of the Muslim Brothers: Europe and the expansion of the International Organization“, in which the Islamic Brotherhood claims to be the cause. the expansion of jihad in the European Union[28]; and “Daëch: The Redistribution of the Kart in a Upholstered World“, which argues that the Muslim Brotherhood itself is the offspring from which Al-Qaeda and then Daëch[29] were born first – a misleading thesis that even white supremacists in the United States cannot understand, and that even the CIA rejected it as early as the 1980s by changing its position on the Brotherhood[30].
From the electoral victory of 2018 and the referendum the following year, which formalized the maintenance of the al-Sisi regime for at least another decade, Ali decided to move the center of its operations to Paris – to CEMO, based in the center of the French capital[31]. After Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s landslide victory, the massive lobby structure under Abdelraheem Ali’s leadership is no longer needed in his home country. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood and all other oppositions are massively repressed[32]. For the Gulf states, there is now a political and trade battle over relations with the European Union – France in the driver’s seat, as this nation has always been Qatar’s most important and reliable partner, never influenced or blackmailed by American interference.
The CEMO staff during a conference in May 2018: from left Richard Labévière, Atmane Tazaghart, Abdelraheem Ali, Ian Hamel and Roland Jacquard[33]
Abdelraheem Ali moved to Paris and formed a new team, led by journalists who had previously demonstrated a great understanding of the positions of the Wahhabis and of the regime of Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi: Alexandre Del Valle, former politician of the most extreme wing of the UMP, today a columnist for “Le Figaro”[34]; Emmanuel Razavi, who wrote the book “The Project: The strategy of conquest and infiltration of the Muslim brothers in France and in the world[35]” with Del Valle and who published “Qatar, forbidden truths: An emirate on the verge of implosion[36]” – columnist for “Le Figarò” and “France24”[37]; Roland Lombardi, former parachute officer and now military expert for “Le Figaro”[38]; Richard Labévière, former editor-in-chief of Radio France International, then fired for having told lies about the Syrian question and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East[39]; Ian Hamel, a freelance writer who has written for decades in local newspapers in French-speaking Switzerland and has published a biography of one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, Tariq Ramadan – a book which is under criminal investigation by the authorities Swiss courts on suspicion of forgery and defamation[40].
They are led by Atmane Tazaghart, the former editor-in-chief of the Arab section of France24, who was fired from his post for his anti-Semitic and pro-Hezbollah[41] positions and a past as a passionate agitator in favor of Middle Eastern regimes[42]. . Under the leadership of Tazaghart and Ali, the CEMO, which had settled in Paris, has a new enemy alongside the Islamic Brothers: Qatar, against which the portals managed by the CEMO publish new stories of negative propaganda every day, some of which are so bogus they are ridiculous… CEMO portals claim, in addition to the usual terrorist links, that Qatar is staging a coup in Saudi Arabia, is on the verge of bankruptcy and has organized plans to transfer the pandemic in the EU and other Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia[43].
In the meantime, Abdelraheem Ali began a feverish activity centered on the friendship and alliance of Marine Le Pen[44] and the system of political lobbies in France organized in structures called “Friendship Group”. In particular, the France-Qatar Friendship Group in the National Assembly is mainly made up of parliamentarians from different left-wing parties and President Macron’s[45] “En Marche” movement.
On the other hand, Ali worked with the France-Iraq Friendship Group, which was led by right-wing parliamentarians and the late UMP and which is now more widely composed and has therefore been replaced by the France-Egypt[46] Friendship Group, which is dominated by right-wing parliamentarians becomes[47]. Finally, CEMO has launched its own NGO, GWA Global Watch Analysis, which appears to be based in London and coordinated by Abdelraheem Ali, Atmane Tazaghart and Ian Hamel. In early 2019, GWA launched a feverish propaganda campaign against Qatar[48].
The book “Qatar Papers”
December 21, 2004: Christian Chesnot (left) and Georges Malbrunot (right), shortly after their release in Iraq[49]
Christian Chesnot (Radio France International) and Georges Malbrunot (Le Figaro) have published several books. They rose to fame in 2004 when they were kidnapped near Baghdad as a reporter for the Iraq war[50]. They were released after about four months in prison, although various aspects of the kidnapping and release are still controversial: on the one hand the secret services, on the other hand the France-Iraq Friendship Group, many asked for the honor of having their release or quarreling with being the kidnappers.
The books published by the two journalists[51] cemented their fame in Arab countries so much that Malbrunot became the only European journalist to obtain exclusive interviews[52] with the Syrian dictator Bashar Al Assad. He is also co-author of a biography of one of Osama Bin Laden’s most dangerous lieutenants, Nasser Al Bahri[53], kindly known as Abu Jandal (the Father of Death)[54]. Two relationships that undermine Malbrunot’s credibility: French journalist Gilles Jacquier (France2) has been killed during the civil war, and Malbrunot writes, based on Saudi and French intelligence sources, that the rebels were responsible for the murder[55]. Jacquier’s partner, as well as the French justice investigation, then showed that the murder had been committed by loyalists of Bashar Al Assad[56].
The books of Chesnot and Malbrunot are also controversial: their publications are rejected by the courts which convicted them for defamation of Socialist Senator Alexis Bachelay[57] and Socialist Senator Nathalie Goulet[58]. In order to increase his income, Georges Malbrunot, with his former colleague from Le Figaro, Lionel Rabiet[59], founded a travel agency, Croisières d’Exception Sarl Paris[60], which long before the start of his activity (organization of cruises in the Middle East with Malbrunot as guide and lecturer) inexplicably earned more than 10 million euros per year[61].
In 2017, a few months after moving to Paris and taking over the CEMO[62], Abdelraheem Ali organized a meeting between the main critics of Qatar operating in France, including Georges Malbrunot. The collaboration between Abdelraheem Ali and Georges Malbrunot leads to an extraordinary result. From a previously secret source, the two journalists received files containing hundreds of documents[63] stolen from the accounts of the QCF Qatar Charity.
Using this material, two years later, Malbrunot and Chesnot wrote the book “Qatar Papers”, which was published in early 2019 for the Parisian publisher Michel Lafon[64]. The book provides details of the financial support for 140 of the more than 100,000 projects organized by the QCF or a list of dozens of dozens of religious schools and centers of Islamic culture scattered throughout the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland[65] that received funding. This is enough, according to the authors, to establish that the QCF has secretly funded al-Qaeda in the past[66].
The book documents substantial down payments to Tariq Ramadan, one of the leaders of the Islamic Brotherhood[67], and thus supports the thesis that this organization is an integral part of jihad[68]. The fact that the cooperation between Ramadan and QCF is official and transparent is not seen as a sign of normality, but as the most secret of all: in London, QCF acts in official cooperation with the Islamic Brotherhood behind the facade of the Nectar Trust[69]. An organization carefully controlled by the British Government’s[70] Charity Commission and whose advocates are identical to the Church of England, the Archdiocese of Canterbury, the entire Anglican Church and many British Royal Family charities[71].
Left: Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard Nasser Al-Bahri, alias Abu Jandal (Father of Death); Right: his biographer Georges Malbrunot[72]
During the preparation of the book, an established documentary filmmaker from France2, Jérôme Sesquin, accompanied by a Moroccan opponent of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammed Louizi[73], follows the two authors of the book to record their interviews, but in a way that is not fully clear. Sesquin places hidden cameras and microphones in various mosques and offices of religious institutions and records hours and hours of secret conversations between those who work, study and pray in these institutions[74].
Despite all these efforts, Chesnot, Malbrunot and Sesquin find no proof of payment for the jihad. None. The book, passed for a journalistic research article, is therefore only a simple propaganda operation. An operation clearly led by Abdelraheem Ali, his Parisian staff and his ideological alliance with Marine Le Pen. Ali and Le Pen are playing the bass drum for the book[75]: the two hold a conference in a hall of the French National Assembly to denounce the threat to democracy in France and to Christians in Europe that stems from the alliance between the Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood – what they call “a conspiracy“[76].
GWA is now ready to attack at European level. The English edition of “Qatar Papers” was created and edited directly by Abdelraheem Ali and his collaborators. It is edited by a type of consortium[77] made up of GWA (which is apparently an English company but is actually a public limited company registered in Paris[78]), Averroes et Cie. Paris (a company that has not published annual accounts for 15 years[79] and previously owned by the leaders of the Tunisian Marxist Party[80]) and the financial company Countries Reports Publishing Ltd. London (a company whose owners are unknown)[81].
Country Report was founded by Gethin Bernard Webb, an English gymnastics instructor and bodyguard who now runs the Swiss office of a multinational in Dubai[82]. Shortly before his release, Webb will be replaced by a British trustee, Thomas Edmond Ashman, who has numerous international clients, including a French judge[83] convicted of fraudulent bankruptcy[84] and directly linked to an illegal financing scandal in the UAE[85]. Soon after, GWA launched another campaign with a German website and the German translation of “Qatar Papers”.
And at that point, surprisingly, the machine crashes. It’s messy because Abdelraheem Ali loses his seat in parliament after the vote on October 24, 2020[86] and orders his lawyer Majed Mounir (who is also his son-in-law) to negotiate with al-Sisi to prevent a criminal investigation against him; then he takes a plane to Dubai and disappears[87]. Ali is concerned that Egyptian judges may restate an old complaint related to the fact that he used the tapes of the secret service tapes in his TV show while still in Egypt[88].
Map of the member countries of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) founded in Riyadh on March 25, 1981[89]
Everything stops in Paris and nothing happens on the CEMO portals until Christmas – but behind the scenes Ali is preparing and transferring CEMO shares to his children at a general meeting on November 28, 2020: Khaled, 23, who studies in Barcelona and Shahenda, 28[90], who works as a journalist in Cairo[91]. The publication of the “Qatar Papers” as well as all public activities of CEMO, including meetings with representatives of French political lobbies, until then at the heart of Ali’s staff activities, will be suspended.
It surprises everyone: Ali rose to fame in Egypt in 2013 when, through his ties to Saudi military power and Egyptian intelligence[92], he received a TV show called “The Black Box” on the commercial channel Al Qahera Wal Nas Network, about which Ali was broadcasting fake news against the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters[93]. The show was suspended in 2014 as Ali, in an omnipotent delirium, attacked billionaire entrepreneur Naguib Sawiris and accused him of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood[94] election campaign with $ 7 billion.
As Al Qahera announced that he would end his show, Ali responded with furious rage by posting an alleged revelation: he claims that WAFD party leader Al-Sayed Al Badawi advised Al-Sisi to stop “The Black Box” because in 2010 he received money from the Egyptian secret services to help organize the coup against Mohammed Morsi[95]. He goes further, but the material that has already been filmed is not even released, it is only known because it was denied by Mohammed Morsi after the secret service and Egyptian army conspiracy to overthrow the democratically elected parliament[96].
A very serious mistake: Sawiris and Al Badawi are among the most powerful men in Egypt, and they are angry with him. After Ali’s broadcast, several pieces of evidence appear in the judiciary of crimes committed by the secret services on the “advice” of Abdelraheem Ali[97] (in addition to the use of illegal cassettes made by the secret services[98]). At this point, as a token of the loyalty of those who support him, Ali will get a seat in parliament (to grant him immunity) and he will be sent to Paris to continue his propaganda work[99].
As Ali finds out, in October 2020, that the Egyptians have let him down, he gets angry and declares in a video recording that he is “above the law“, that he “deserves a statue“[100] for his role. in the coup, and demands that Al – Sisi “dare to arrest him“. Then, in another video, he denies being on the run and pretends to be in Turkey for back treatment, then boldly announces that he’s ready to get back on track[101]. But things have changed: In 2019, the Saudis paid more than € 250,000 to cover CEMO expenses that paid staff and conferences[102]. This money will not arrive in 2020, and the Ali family has a debt of 111,000 euros on the back[103].
The effect is visible: the main blog Le Portail has been suspended since February 2020[104]. The German hosts two flagship articles, one by Abdelraheem Ali and the other by his daughter Shahenda, otherwise it remained suspended in November 2020[105]. In February, the second French site, like the English and Arabic one, was restarted under the leadership of Shahenda Abdelraheem[106], while the Turkish version was suspended[107]. Among the various websites linked to the CEMO network, all three were taken down by AlBawabhNews, but those in Arabic, run by new editors and whose main theme is the campaign for political rehabilitation of Abdelraheem Ali[108], remain. The GWA Global Watch Analysis page continues to operate, but without a release date and full of advertising – to make money[109] – the last newsletter was released in November 2020[110], while the company’s shares are now split between Atmane Tazaghart and his wife Asma[111].
The “mobile screens” strategy
The historic building at Schwanenplatz 4, at the entrance to the historic center of Lucerne, headquarters of Pluteos AG
Everyone hoped that the peace of January 5 would be the reason why Riyadh and Abu Dhabi no longer believe in supporting a structure which has given no results other than the book by Chesnot and Malbrunot. The reality is however a little different: the armistice is signed, the war continues, but on a more professional level. The UAE government signs a contract to coordinate all international propaganda activities with Pluteos AG in Lucerne[112] – and this opens up a number of new and unexpected scenarios.
Pluteos (Latin for “protective grid”[113]) was founded on January 19, 2018 with a capital of 100,000 francs by seven partners: Hans-Georg Maassen[114], Sergej Rubinstein[115], Wolfgang Maute, August Hanning, Thorsten Mehles, Hans Wegmüller and Samuel Danilowitsch[116]. The latter was the key figure to win the contract: he has been a friend of Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan for years, with whom he founded and financed Aquila Aerospace Llc Abu Dhabi[117] – the spearhead of the new concept of global militarism in the Arab Emirates[118].
Counting on a multinational mercenary personnel, Aquila Aerospace has a fleet of drones and spy planes, fighter-bombers for the Gulf patrol and hackers specializing in penetration operations in foreign military commandos – all of them delicate and politically questionable tasks. Thanks to the idea of Danilovich and the chairman of the board of Aquila Aerospace, Homaid Al-Shimmari, the responsibility for this approach appears to lie with a private company, not a state[119]. In any case, Lt. Col. Al-Shimmari[120] is no stranger, but the vice-chairman of the board of directors of the Mubadala group[121], a multinational company personally run by Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan[122], with a turnover of 232 billion dollars (civil, military and real estate industry[123]) which also controls the military giant EDGE Group[124].
Prior to landing in Abu Dhabi, Danilowitsch had worked in London as a financial advisor to a number of Soviet oligarchs, including Patokh Chodiev, Alexander Machkevich[125], and Alijan Ibragimov (the founders of the controversial oil group ENRC[126]), as well as Elman Huseynov and Yuri Chliaifchtein. (Telora / Aerocorp Group, bankruptcy in 2017[127]). The decisive step, however, was to found The Club of Three[128] with George Weidenfeld: Baron Weidenfeld was a very famous (and extremely influential) Viennese Jew who fled Nazi Germany in 1938 and became an officer of intelligence, journalist then international success in London, and again the editor and political adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister Chaim Weizmann[129].
The Club of Three is an association which brings together several times a year some of the politicians, soldiers, financiers and industrialists[130] of the three countries that Weidenfeld claimed must keep control of the democratic development of the world: the United Kingdom, France and the United Kingdom. ‘Germany[131]. When it was founded, Pluteos had only one client: the Club of Three, for which Pluteos selects all staff, teachers and special guests[132].
A migrant camp in Libya following an F16 attack by the United Arab Emirates Air Force which, using technology from Aquila Aerospace and the Egyptian intelligence services, identified strategic targets among the 50 victims of the attack[133]
Wolfgang Maute is a Swiss fiduciary trustee, expert in taxation and management of offshore[134] company networks, who served as a judge until 2018 and was elected to the ranks of the Liberal Party (FDP) in the canton of Thurgau[135]. Sergej Rubinstein is a Russian millionaire living in Berlin. There he has been a successful real estate developer for years and a point of reference for wealthy Russians who want to leave their homeland[136] – above all billionaire Valentin Bukhtoyarov, owner of coal mines, oil producer concessionaire, sponsor of Formula 1 and passionate about racehorses[137], for which Rubinstein manages the Londoners companies and the offshore[138] entities. This allows us to understand who the potential financiers are and what their interests are in having a small business in Switzerland with large international relations as a partner.
The other shareholders are worrying – to say the least. August Hanning was from 1998 to 2005 at the head of the BND[139] (the foreign German secret services which organized themselves after the war by taking over the structure of the formidable organization Gehlen, the flagship of Nazi espionage[140]); Hans-Georg Maaßen was the head of the BVS from 2012 to 2018 (the secret service of the Ministry of the Interior, set up in 1950 by the American occupation forces to prevent Communist infiltration into West Germany[141] ); Thorsten Mehles is a senior LKA (criminal police) officer who worked as an assistant[142] during Hanning’s years as head of the BND. As for General Hans Wegmüller[143], he was head of the Swiss secret service (SND)[144] from 2001 to 2008.
These gentlemen have been involved in numerous scandals during the years in which they ran the intelligence services of their country, which, thanks to the tendency to hide under the carpet, the most nasty secrets connected with the activity of their spies , were overcome by the respective governments. The point is that an organization led by people of this caliber clearly has cruel power, knowledge, influence and connections to offer that scares those who want to worry about defending democracy in Switzerland and Germany. We are only listing a few of their scandals in order to convey to the reader the true dimension of the people we are writing about.
Juretzko Affair – In 2004 and 2006, former spy Norbert Juretzko published two books on the disasters the BND had committed in the years it was under Hanning. We are talking about mail which was sent between residents of the GDR and the FRG before the fall of the Berlin Wall and which was intercepted, copied and not delivered; the fact that Stay Behind (the secret paramilitary organization founded by the United States in all Western countries) had been rendered unusable because the BND had disclosed all documents with STASI, but had not admitted it to avoid the scandal and with it all members of the organization at risk; The BND continued to use exposed people and destroyed apartments, and allowed the CIA and NSA to use their spies and then either expose or eliminate them. Hanning’s predecessor, Volker Foertsch, was allegedly responsible for all of these shortcomings, but Hanning protected him. Hanning brought Juretzko to court and lost all cases[145];
NPD case – In January 2001, at the request of Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and Bavarian Minister of the Interior Günther Beckstein, the courts opened a criminal investigation into the activities of the neo-Nazi NPD party in order to prohibit its illegal activities. After a few weeks of investigation, prosecutors in Munich and Berlin found that an extremely large proportion of NPD executives were either BvS agents or BND agents or apparently undercover police officers. The investigation was abandoned in shame[146];
Al-Masri Case – In 2003, the CIA, in cooperation with the BND and BVS, abducted German citizen Khaled Al-Masri and tortured him for months in detention in Afghanistan. The CIA claimed he was an Al Qaeda spy. A year and a half after the CIA realized it was a mistake, they released him to a forest on the border with Albania, where the Bavarian family could save him. In the following years, the family fought for the punishment of the German kidnappers, torturers and their accomplices as well as reimbursement of costs and compensation for the pain and suffering of Germany. In vain when Hanning and his team defended the legitimacy of this kidnapping to the end[147];
After his release and treatment in hospital, Khaled Al-Masri goes to the Munich prosecutor’s office to report on his kidnapping and torture[148]
Manipulation of the press – Between 1993 and 2009, the secret services, under the command of several BND officials, spied on, followed, intercepted, paid journalists to obtain the denunciation of their colleagues, manipulated with false information and intimidated a large many of them – a situation of total delegitimization of press freedom and the creation of an intolerable climate of mistrust, because some journalists, because of their personal envy and jealousy or their simple antipathy, have denounced certain colleagues as communists or accomplices of terrorists. In the end, the scandal was hidden, some journalists lost their jobs, nothing happened in the structures of the BND, the wounded received neither apologies nor reimbursements[149];
Secretly participating in the Iraq War – At a time when the US Presidency announced the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (a statement that was later ruled false), some BND agents and German military officers were in secret mission to Baghdad. According to the international agreements of 1990, it is totally forbidden for Germany to use the army outside its borders without a public decision by the Bundestag – which has not been done[150]. According to official information from the US military, not only did they participate in the invasion of Iraq as advisers and informants, but they also initiated the case on the basis of which the US federal government allegedly ordered the invasion. The federal government has always denied everything and parliamentary commissions of inquiry have never achieved results[151];
Gössner case – In 2012, after a series of incidents, lawyer Rolf Gössner discovered that he had been pursued and intercepted by the BVS. Despite the denial of Maaßen, the newly elected head of the BVS, police investigations have shown that lawyer Gössner has been the subject of BVS attention for 38 years without any news or at least a suspicion of a crime! The persecution was due to the fact that Gössner had started his career as activists in the environmental movement or as a lawyer for people in difficult economic conditions who otherwise would not have been able to provide legal assistance. A trial held in Cologne proved that Gössner was right and BVS was wrong[152];
Past SND scandals – The Swiss secret service is not immune to disasters, illegal operations and stupidity, especially in the years when Hans Wegmüller was head of the organization. The best known case is that of the Clement Guitton investigation, which found that the SND, due to budget and personnel restrictions (only 300 administrative and military employees), used information from other secret services illegally present. in Switzerland, which acted without control or authorization[153]. Nevertheless, in the 20th century, the SND opened 900,000 files on Swiss citizens or foreign residents (one in 20 Swiss, one in three foreigners) for no apparent reason and without authorization, which prevented these people from accessing a job[154]. in public administration or bank loans. Moreover, an assessment of SND’s activities revealed an embarrassing number of mission reimbursement missions[155];
Hans Wegmüller and the Lauber affaire – After leaving the SND, Wegmüller began working with Attorney General Mike Lauber in a series of investigations which were carried out absolutely irregularly and the discovery of which led to his forced resignation and the opening of proceedings against Lauber and his assistant René Brülhart[156], with whom Lauber had worked at the end of the 20th century on the creation of the Liechtenstein Financial Intelligence Unit (SFIU)[157]. The two are charged with embezzlement, espionage and violating criminal investigation laws, so Swiss justice[158] froze a huge financial asset in the bank accounts of Brülhart – and Wegmüller, who received the generous money for his support, is suspected of having been his accomplice[159];
April 1990: Demonstration in Bern against the creation of 900,000 personal files by the Swiss secret services[160]
System 360 case – Since 2010 (so we are talking about a time when Wegmüller, Maaßen and Mehles were still part of the leaders of the secret services), the partners of Pluteos had already founded a company specializing in cybersecurity and intelligence called System 360 Deutschland GmbH Berlin[161] which refuses to submit the documents required by the transparency law and of which only 50% of its shares are known to belong to Pluteos AG Lucerne through System 360 Holding GmbH Berlin[162]. Since Maaßen has encountered problems on several occasions over the past decade due to occasional and personal use of his office and agents, System 360 is now believed to be a spy company on commission and abroad since its inception – completely out of any control or legal restrictions[163] – and therefore Pluteos is just a front that was established by System 360 eight years after opening a branch in Lucerne[164], so that the business proper is that which is run in Berlin[165];
Affaire Prevent AG – Mahles, Hanning and Maaßen were all involved in the 2010 Prevent AG scandal in Munich[166]. This private investigative and cybersecurity firm had been hired by HSH Nordbank, but at the end of the investigation it was suspected that the evidence presented to the judges had been tampered with and that Prevent executives had blackmailed some of the suspects; part of the money paid to the Munich company had been stolen from the cash register[167]. A few weeks after the announcement of the judges and a police search[168], Prevent AG declared bankruptcy. The criminal consequences of this case are not yet over[169] – but some Prevent employees are now working in the Berlin offices of System 360[170].
What now?
London March 2018: Demonstration against the sale of British arms to Saudi Arabia and the Emirates[171]
The agreement signed between the GCC countries puts an end to diplomatic hostilities, as claimed by the United Nations and the three great powers, but it not only does not resolve the dispute, but it does not address it. It is impossible to resolve the intertwining of interests and fears that caused this situation: Qatar is the only country in the Persian Gulf to have prepared for the post-oil era, which disrupts backward monarchies and curators from Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
Moreover, everyone in this region is afraid of Turkey and Iran (especially from a military point of view) and that the question of Israel’s survival fits into this picture – which in Jerusalem , after the iron agreement with Egypt, there is paranoia against them The Palestinians, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood are linked. And we did not discuss the issue of jihadism and the unstable balance between Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
The entire area is a powder keg and Western military industry, as usual, is taking advantage of this situation to increase its profits and gain hypothetical and impossible control over the development of the conflict. As we discuss the nuclear weapons that could be developed by the Iranians, we Westerners are providing the other actors in this theater with massive weapons against which we even have no means of defending ourselves: cyber warfare does not need tanks, marines, and fighter-bombers, just tech hacking and armed drones, and in this industry the Emirates are now ahead of everyone else on the planet.
We are arming the madmen and regimes who, after decades of boasting of exporting democracy to their homes, are preparing to import a terrible dictatorship into our homes – thanks to our unbelieving military and spy directors, our Industries, with the credulity or corruption of our politicians.

[42] “Atmane Tazaghart, former editor in chief of the Arab section of France 24, was suspended from his duties following the discovery of comments he had made during an interview on a Lebanese pro-Hezbollah channel Al Mayadeen, funded by Iran in 2013. The video of the interview was published on April 22 by the electronic newspaper “All4syria”, and the information was spotted by the Jewish Tribune. He said “at their beginning, these revolutions had shaken the projects of western hegemony and Zionist in the region. We did not expect the Zionist movements and America – which is the spearhead of Zionism in this region – to sit idly by” (…). So, from the events in Libya, there is a drift of the Arab Spring. There was the NATO intervention. There is this war funded by the Zionists. Bernard-Henri Lévy, this Zionist French philosopher of Likud, was the godfather of this revolution. It was he who had brought Gaddafi’s opponents to France to Sarkozy’s home at the Elysée Palace. He was able to wage this war and, therefore, there was this drift in the trajectory of these revolutions”, declared Tazaghart. In 2012, MEMRI had already reported the anti-Semitic and negationist remarks by Tazaghart, broadcast on Al Manar, another Hezbollah channel[42]. In this program, he defends the position of Roger Garaudy, author of the book “The founding myths of Israeli policy”. Tazaghart commented: “in his book, he highlighted the way in which the Zionists and the Israelis exploit the Holocaust. They put it forward to justify their aggressive policies. As a result, he has been attacked, demonized and marginalized for decades” – cfr. Report on Global Watch Analysis, pages 4-8
